SLOVAKIA Levoča

Levoča is a little town located in the north-east of Slovakia, in the Spiš region, close to Spiš Castle (UNESCO Site). It was entered in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2009. A unique national park – the Slovak Paradise – with small hills surrounding the town, and the town with its historic centre and well-preserved town hall, historical monuments, Renaissance buildings, a Renaissance church with the highest wooden altar in the world. The altar was carved by Master Paul of Levoča, a famous medieval wood-carver. The organ in St.James´s Church was constructed in the 17th century and up to 19th century it was the biggest organ in the Hungary. All this make the district the perfect place to visit!
