AUSTRIA Schönbrunn

Schönbrunn Palace, located in Vienna, used to be a summer residence of the Habsburg emperors for 200 years. The Baroque palace is one of the most important architectural, cultural and historical monuments in the country. It was designed by the architects Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach and Nicolaus Pacassi and it is full of expressive examples of decorative art. The world’s first zoo (established in 1752) consists of a colossal garden and the whole complex creates a remarkable Baroque ensemble and brilliant example of Gesamtkunstwerk (many-sided artistic work).
